Growing up in Centennial, Clay calls himself a “Colorado” guy. Born in the Midwest, he moved to Colorado when he was five and has made it his home ever since. He attended Arapahoe High School and later attended Regis University, graduating with a degree in Business Management and Religious Studies. While in college he also played collegiate baseball, and was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 17th round of 2004.
